We take great pride in the
alpacas that form the backbone of the breeding program at Great Rock
Alpacas. Our Herdsires are the domestically born offspring of award
winning parentage. Maple Brook Winsor’s sire is Bueno who is
legendary in this business and is a wonderful example of the breeding
from the rural Alianza in Peru. Maple Brook Conundrum’s sire
often described as the “Best of the Black” is a Blue Ribbon Winner in
1999 MAPACA Jubilee,1999 AOBA National conference,1999 Virginia
Classic, 2002 Get of Sire Big E.
Our dams have been bred to
the finest alpaca herdsires representing the Accoyo line (Royal
Fawn, 4Peruvian Legacy) and Alianza represented by Hemingway
and Bueno. This coming summer, we will have two junior herdsires coming on-line:
Great Rock
Ellington, who was sired by Snowmass Nova - a product of Snowmass
Peruvian Casanova and Snowmass Drambuie's Kaluha; and Laurel Hill
Cheyenne pictured at the right. His sire is Peruvian
Seagram and his dam (in our foundation herd) is CPeruvian Bree, a
gorgeous white female.
